The depth of a well depends on various factors such as geological conditions, water table level, and customer budget. We manage projects for domestic/residential, public water supply (PWS), commercial, industrial and agricultural customers to include new drilling, deepening and/or pumping and storage systems, and more. The majority of that work is done with our own in-house resources. If a project requires additional or specialized equipment or experience, we collaborate with our trusted strategic partners whom we consider some of the very best at what they do.
The time it takes to drill a well depends on the depth and diameter of the well, the geologic formations encountered (i.e. sand vs rock) and other site and project-specific conditions. Most residential wells can be drilled within 1-2 weeks of moving onsite. Customers should be prepared for their project to progress quickly once work commences. However, the lead time from initial estimate to move-on can vary depending on workload, weather, equipment and staffing. We do our best to get to customers as soon as possible and greatly appreciate their patience.
We specialize in drilling, not in finance. However, we've worked with many customers and their respective lenders to deliver successful projects. Check our resources above for more funding info. We also recommend customers establish a sinking fund to cover the costs associated with owning a water well long term. Water levels can drop over time, or with increased demand, and even the very best materials and equipment won't last forever.
We typically require a 50% deposit prior to move-on, or as specified in our contract. This covers a portion of the work, as well as the cost of mobilizing machinery and crew, and procuring equipment and supplies for the project. We may request one or more progress draw(s) and/or send a final invoice at or near substantial completion. Note that there are certain project phases inherent to drilling especially, that cannot be interrupted or delayed without risk of failure and/or financial consequence. Therefore, we recommend customers plan on having the total estimated amount (less deposit) available and readily accessible before any work commences.
We accept cash, check or ACH bank transfer (no fee) and also credit cards (+3% fee). With email and wire fraud prevalent, we do our best to protect our customers. Convenient electronic payment links are sent directly from our accounting software so that customers can quickly and securely input their information, if they so choose. We never include ACH bank transfer instructions on pdf invoices or in the body of our emails. Please report any suspicious emails immediately to info@welldonewaterworks.com.
